Actualmente, la zona comercial abierta de San Gregorio, tiene como objetivo la movilización de la economía del municipio a través de sus locales destinados a la restauración como bares, restaurantes, cafeterías, y locales textiles. Pero, ¿como se fundó esta zona?

Todo comenzó, a finales del siglo XIX, cuando la zona cercana a la iglesia de San Gregorio, se convirtió en una zona de mercadillos y de ventas de productos alimenticios, entre otros. Esto, hacía que la población local, frecuentara esta zona y a su vez incrementase la economía del lugar, a través del trueque (intercambio de productos) y otros métodos de compra y venta.

Con el paso del tiempo, la zona comercial abierta ha ido mejorando en cuanto a la calidad de los productos que se venden, los locales en los que se promocionan, así como, la profesionalidad de aquellas personas que se dedican al comercio. Actualmente, se conservan placas en memoria de personajes que fueron importantes en San Gregorio, como poetas, ingenieros...así como casas antiguas y fachadas conservadas de la época.
